Opening Keynote - Volkswagen Vision Workbench (VW²) – Computer Vision by Volkswagen
- The Volkswagen Group IT has developed a modular Computer Vision Workbench based on a stable framework which enables the users to set up use-cases in the computer vision field easily, even without programming knowledge.
- The workbench includes a camera connection service which is independent from the camera hardware and can generate image data for training neural networks to detect objects and extract information from images. Additionally the Workbench offers an automated pipeline to train neural networks based on 3D-Data.
- With this strong foundation, processes like quality control, assembly control, surveillance of objects and scenes, anonymization of humans can be implemented intuitively by the user with low-code programming or through an easy to use web interface.
- Needless to say, the Volkswagen Vision Workbench also offers the advanced users all the necessary components for image processing and computer vision for custom solutions via its standardized developer interface.

Why continuous Operational Intelligence is a game-changer for Manufacturing
- New research commissioned by KX shows that the manufacturing sector globally is committed to making significant investments in real time analytics solutions to maximise the value held within the vast volumes of data being created both centrally and at the edge.
- But challenges exist in getting technology and processes aligned to facilitate the operational shift required to fully exploit the benefits that an increased investment in real-time data analytics can bring. Legacy technologies are struggling to cope with the increased volume, velocity and variety of data while the move edge computing can expose latency issues with how data is analysed.
- Join KX Senior Vice-President IoT and Utilities Przemek Tomczak as he outlines how interoperability, ease of use and ability to conduct analytics at the edge are critical requirements for any real-time analytics solution.

Mike Cumby
Channel Manager UK + EMEA , Centrica

My name is Mike Cumby and my background includes 20+ years in IT with various manufacturers focusing on the Channel VAR community. I joined Centrica Business Solutions to flex my eco warrior muscles, though my journey started a few years ago when I went vegan for a year in the name of charity. From that experience, I amassed a lot of knowledge on the negative impact our lifestyle choices has on our planet. As a father of 5, I decided we needed to be part of a global effort and tackle climate change as we hand down the planet to the next generation and beyond. Reducing my family’s carbon footprint included reducing our meat/fish/dairy intake, installing solar panels on our roof and switching our family car to an EV. But the biggest personal shift I could make would be a career utilising my business experience and skills with a company who used technology to enable energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions on a global scale.
