My name is Mike Cumby and my background includes 20+ years in IT with various manufacturers focusing on the Channel VAR community. I joined Centrica Business Solutions to flex my eco warrior muscles, though my journey started a few years ago when I went vegan for a year in the name of charity. From that experience, I amassed a lot of knowledge on the negative impact our lifestyle choices has on our planet. As a father of 5, I decided we needed to be part of a global effort and tackle climate change as we hand down the planet to the next generation and beyond. Reducing my family’s carbon footprint included reducing our meat/fish/dairy intake, installing solar panels on our roof and switching our family car to an EV. But the biggest personal shift I could make would be a career utilising my business experience and skills with a company who used technology to enable energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions on a global scale.
