Make UK is the largest voice supporting UK manufacturing, Charlotte’s role as Region Director is to engage Make UK’s members and assist them in advancing as a manufacturer by providing bespoke introductions, providing industry insight, attendance at events & networking, promoting their business and ensuring their views are heard. Another key part of her role is to engage with regional stakeholders ensuring manufacturers’ interests are represented to LEPs, the West Midlands Combined Authority, Midlands Engine and the Greater Cambridge Greater Peterborough Combined Authority. Charlotte is also a Trustee of the WMG Academy for Young Engineers, a Careers and Enterprise Advisor in Lincolnshire, a Board Member of the West Midlands Growth Company and is a Senior Industrial Fellow with The Advanced Services Group at Aston Business School.
She gained her undergraduate degree from The University of Leeds in Biomedical Science before completing her Masters at The University of Nottingham. Charlotte is currently studying to gain her IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management. Before joining Make UK (formerly EEF) in 2013, Charlotte worked in food manufacturing where she focused on business development and food safety management.

He joined the AME in 2016 as Innovation and Digitalisation Director. In this role he led and delivered successful cross-disciplinary R&D and business improvement projects both in a mixed industrial and academic setting, bringing together researchers from different disciplines and sectors to conduct research, derive viable solutions to complex business problems and conceptualise new collaborative methods that explore optimality in engineering-business contexts.
Prior to joining the Coventry University, Dr Kauffman worked for over 10 years in senior roles across the UK manufacturing industry, leading cross-disciplinary industrial R&D projects ranging from operational improvement projects, to IT/OT projects designed to integrate engineering teams and generate value.
In September 2021 Dr Kauffman launched a book titled Profiting from Industry 4.0: the road to future value in manufacturing aimed at providing manufacturing companies with an insight into how to maximise value creation from the implementation of Industry 4.0.

Moe Sani
Lead Embedded Software Engineer , Dyson

Moe is currently a Lead Embedded Software Engineer in the New Product Innovation (NPI) Software Team at Dyson. He has been actively contributing to various stages of several new products across different categories at Dyson. He and his team are responsible for ensuring the next generation of connected products are utilising the right technologies, and the product propositions are refined in readiness to transition to the delivery teams. Core to this is exploring the proposition by developing proof of concept integrations and systems. Some key technologies include:

Moe is also an Industrial Mentor for the Dyson Institute of Technology (DIET) and the University of Bristol (UoB).
Before Dyson, he was a Research Associate at Bristol Robotics Laboratory (BRL), working on SMARTsurg European project to build a more intuitive teleoperated surgical robot. Moe has also worked as a Fellow at the Italian Institute of Technology(IIT)’s Advanced Robotics Lab (ADVR), where he was part of The Robot Teleoperativo project, that aims for substituting humans in hazardous environments with a quadruped robotic platform operated by an immersive virtual reality master station.
Before IIT, Moe was a member of the R&D department at Sobh Parlar Industrial Co. where he designed several products in the field of household appliances.

Rozemarijn (Roze) Wesby, a British and Dutch dual-national, is currently the Head of Plant of Tomorrow, at Holcim. Through Plants of Tomorrow, Holcim is boosting the competitive edge of its operations and products and optimizing its environmental footprint.
Responsible for leading the largest roll-outs of Industry 4.0 technologies in the building materials industry, Roze oversees a global team that implements cutting-edge digital and process innovation technologies across more than 260 integrated cement plants and more than 50 countries. Since her appointment, Plants of Tomorrow has completed over 1000 deployments of Industry 4.0 technology across Holcim operations, collectively delivering measurable impact to business performance and sustainability of operations.
Roze is an industry thought leader and public speaker on digital transformation, has acted as strategic advisor to national governments and the European Commissioners for Energy and Transportation, and is a multiple industry board member.
Prior to joining Holcim, Roze was Global Director, Digital Transformation in Process Industries at ABB. During her tenure and equivalent roles in the Mining and Transportation sectors, she built a strong track record in identifying new avenues for growth and innovation for the group and its customers worldwide.
Roze began her career as a cross-industry management consultant at Elixirr, where she successfully supported clients from Manufacturing to Financial Services with executing complex and large-scale business transformations. She is a Design Thinking practitioner and has specialized in identifying and leveraging new technologies, methodologies and commercial and business models to accelerate innovation. She holds a Masters of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Exeter, in the United Kingdom. She has acted as the Business Case Head Judge for Formula Student, the largest undergraduate automotive engineering competition in the world.

Shubham is working as project engineer at Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG) under Material and Manufacturing Directorate. The role is focused on delivery of accelerated innovation on high impact collaborative research and development projects and enabling route-to-market for next generation low emission transportation technologies. Currently, Shubham is working on for the Coventry Very Light Rail (VLR) project (led by WMG) aimed at developing affordable light rail transport solution for the City of Coventry. During the last 3 years, involvement has led to the strategic development of the novel patent-pending CVLR track system targeting a radical step-change reduction in CAPEX costs typically involved in the light rail infrastructure industry. Prior to this, he was involved in design of Revolution VLR funded by the Department for Transport. With degree in Aerospace Engineering from Swansea University and an ongoing part-time PhD from University of Warwick, Shubham’s competencies include applied material science and computational modelling to enable structural and design optimisations.

Cyber Security Manager, Jaguar Land Rover Software Engineering

Felipe Fernandes, 34 years old, Brazilian, is currently a Cyber Security Manager, at JLR Ireland Software Engineering. More than 15 years of experience in the automotive and product development areas. Previously, he worked as an Engineering Manager at Unitec Semiconductors, an important Brazilian government program to bring the semiconductor industry to the country, applying the company’s ICs in IoT solutions for the Latin American market.
Also, he held the position of Head of Vehicle Cyber Security at Fiat Chrysler LATAM for almost 5 years as part of the global team, reporting to US engineering and leading a local resource, developing and implementing an entire cyber security strategy for the whole vehicle life cycle. At that time, he joined to SAE International as a member of the task force for writing automotive cyber security standards, such as J3061 and J3101, of which he is still actively involved.
He worked also as an embedded hardware engineer, automation engineer, team leader in automotive assembly line and electronics technician, in mid-sized and multinational companies.
Among several academic backgrounds, he holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering at Catholic University of Minas Gerais (PUC-MG), specialization in Embedded Systems from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), specialization in Cyber Security from the University of Maryland, and is currently studying for his master’s degree at UAb from Portugal.

Make UK is the largest voice supporting UK manufacturing, Charlotte’s role as Region Director is to engage Make UK’s members and assist them in advancing as a manufacturer by providing bespoke introductions, providing industry insight, attendance at events & networking, promoting their business and ensuring their views are heard. Another key part of her role is to engage with regional stakeholders ensuring manufacturers’ interests are represented to LEPs, the West Midlands Combined Authority, Midlands Engine and the Greater Cambridge Greater Peterborough Combined Authority.
