Shubham is working as project engineer at Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG) under Material and Manufacturing Directorate. The role is focused on delivery of accelerated innovation on high impact collaborative research and development projects and enabling route-to-market for next generation low emission transportation technologies. Currently, Shubham is working on for the Coventry Very Light Rail (VLR) project (led by WMG) aimed at developing affordable light rail transport solution for the City of Coventry. During the last 3 years, involvement has led to the strategic development of the novel patent-pending CVLR track system targeting a radical step-change reduction in CAPEX costs typically involved in the light rail infrastructure industry. Prior to this, he was involved in design of Revolution VLR funded by the Department for Transport. With degree in Aerospace Engineering from Swansea University and an ongoing part-time PhD from University of Warwick, Shubham’s competencies include applied material science and computational modelling to enable structural and design optimisations.
