Kris is a non-practicing engineer, an optimistic urban planner, and a self-taught filmmaker. New Urban Mechanics is the City of Boston’s civic innovation R&D lab exploring and prototyping what’s new and next in cities. With the Mechanics, Kris oversees a portfolio of prototypes while also leading the City’s mobility and public realm experiments, including the management of the Boston’s autonomous vehicle deployment and curb management experimentation. This includes work with TNCs, micro-mobility, and technology deployments. He has won awards from the Federal Labs Consortium, American Planning Association, multiple film festivals, and as one of Boston’s 50 on Fire.
